a break
I am officially all caught up on my Etsy orders. Its been a big 2 weeks around here. This morning I shipped of the last bag. I really needed this break. It is always a hard decision to close up shop for a bit but it's also super important. I have talked a lot about this issue in the past but every time I re-open I come back with so much excitement and new energy. Its often when my best bags are made. I will still be sewing and working during this time. I have some local orders to fill and then I will begin getting my stock up for when I open up my online shop again in a few weeks.
I am going to change a few things like no more "made to order" items. I want to learn to be able to have a stock in items and so then I can ship out a bag within 2 days and not have to stress that I have so many orders (bags) to make. With Owynn this is just seeming like the best thing to do. Custom orders will still be accepted but not all. I will be pickier about what I accept and there might be more like a 3 week wait for custom orders + an extra charge.
I also want to sell more locally. In shops, at our farmers market and to locals around the islands. My Etsy shop / Online shop will still be very active but I'm just ready to have a bit more personal contact with more of my customers. Of course I am so grateful for all my online customers, I would not be here without you and so happy to be sending my bags off to people around the states and abroad. So as always thanks so much for your support and reading this blog!
