Day of Love

We meet when I was 15 he was 17
becoming quick friends on a 6 week school trip to a small coastal town in Mexico
By spring I was 16 and we were dating
A summer of exploring his island, him showing me all his favorite spots
Fall came quick and off he went to the real world while I stayed behind with 2 more years of school
Heartbreak came quick but
never fell out of love during the distance
2 years passed filled with ups and downs
I turned 18 and was off to Europe, words at the internet cafes brought smiles to my face
I returned home and shortly after we were living in a big city in a apartment of our own
We traveled to Baja and South America that winter and have stuck together every since
